Directions to Williams
Community Church in Williams, Oregon
Coming from I-5 north (Portland)
Take the first Grants Pass exit off of Interstate 5 (Exit
58). The exit puts you right onto 6th street (no need to turn). Go straight
through town on 6th street (lots of stop lights, about 3 miles), cross the
Caveman Bridge over the Rogue River, stay to the right after the bridge,
following the signs to “Murphy Hwy.238”. You will stay on Hwy.238 (through
Murphy @ 6 miles, where you cross the Applegate River) to the 11.8 mile marker
where you will leave Hwy 238, going straight on “Water Gap Rd.” cut off “to
Williams”. Continue on Water Gap Rd. for 4.8 miles, where there is a “right turn
permitted without stopping” sign. Turn right (you are now on Williams Hwy.) and
go one mile (through Williams) where you’ll use the ONLY left turn lane in town.
Turn left (east) onto E. Fork Rd, the Church is on the right about 100 yards
(directly across from the fire station), the parsonage is on the south side of
the church at the back of the parking lot.
Coming from I-5 south (California)
Coming North on I-5 you get off at exit 24 “Phoenix”. (You
will be following the brown signs which direct you to, “Historic Jacksonville”.)
Turn left (west) at the end of the exit ramp (Fern Valley Rd) and go about 1/2
mile to old Hwy.99 (So. Pacific Hwy), where you’ll turn right (north). Follow
Hwy.99 for about 1.3 miles to a signal where you’ll turn left (west) onto Stage
Rd. Go 3.4 miles to a “T” stop sign where you’ll turn right (north) onto Griffin
Creek Rd. for only about ¼ mile, where you’ll come to another stop sign “T”
where you turn left (west - you’re on Stage Rd. again!), this time going 2.5
miles to Jacksonville (DO obey the speed limit signs!). At the stop sign in
Jacksonville, keep going straight (west) through “downtown” – which will become
Hwy.238. Hwy 238 takes you (8 mi.) through Ruch, (8 mi.) through Applegate, and
(4 mi.) to Provolt, where you will turn left (south) onto Williams Hwy.
(following the signs to Williams). Go 5 miles on this curvy road until you come
to a stop sign, where you’ll turn left (south). Go one mile (through Williams)
where you’ll use the ONLY left turn lane in town. Turn left (east) onto E. Fork
Rd, the Church is on the right about 100 yards (directly across from the fire
station), the parsonage is on the south side of the church at the back of the
parking lot.
